Elliot Smith is a Partner at York Howell. He is a licensed attorney and Certified Public Accountant whose practice focuses on asset protection, business transactions, estate planning, and taxation.

Elliot earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting degrees from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University, as well as his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University. He also holds a Master of Science degree from Southern Utah University.

Elliot brings extensive legal, tax, and business experience to his practice. Prior to joining York Howell, he worked with an international accounting firm in both its federal tax and mergers and acquisitions practices. He has also worked with several law firms advising clients on a broad range of transactional and planning matters.

In his practice, Elliot focuses on helping individuals and businesses develop practical, tax-efficient strategies to protect assets, structure transactions, and plan for the future. His work regularly involves complex estate and tax planning, business formation and acquisitions, probate administration, and trust administration.

In his spare time, Elliot enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, biking, watching movies, and fly fishing. With nearly 40 years of fly fishing experience, he occasionally takes clients on the river to introduce them to one of his lifelong passions.
